Frequently asked questions
All the answers about Domuss, the digital maintenance logbook app for homeowners and tenants in France.
-
What is Domuss?
Domuss is a mobile app (iOS and Android) that serves as a digital maintenance logbook for your home. It catalogs your equipment, links open data for the property (EPC, cadastre, risks...), generates a maintenance schedule aligned with French practices and obligations, enables family sharing, sends reminders and keeps your intervention history.
-
Is Domuss free?
Domuss offers a freemium model: the free version allows 1 property, unlimited equipment and full history. Premium unlocks unlimited properties, home file PDF, family sharing, public link, smart alerts, preventive diagnostics, 5-year forecast budget and replacement estimates.
-
How much does Domuss Premium cost and how do I cancel?
Domuss Premium is an annual subscription at €9.99/year, paid via the App Store or Google Play. Renewal is automatic. You can cancel anytime in your Apple or Google Play subscription settings, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
-
On which platforms is Domuss available?
Domuss is available on iOS (15+) and Android (5.0+). Download the app from the App Store or Google Play via the Download page.
-
Is Domuss for homeowners or tenants?
Both. Homeowners and tenants can inventory equipment, follow the schedule and keep history. Legal obligations (boiler, chimney sweeping...) remain under French law: the landlord is often responsible, but tenants can also document maintenance for the home they occupy.
-
Which equipment does Domuss support?
Domuss catalogs 134 equipment types: gas or oil boiler, heat pump, water heater, ventilation, fireplace, wood stove, air conditioning, pool, roof, gutters, septic tank, alarm, solar panels, etc.
-
Is the maintenance schedule compliant with French regulations?
The Domuss referential includes common deadlines in France: mandatory annual boiler service, chimney sweeping, dual-flow ventilation check, septic tank emptying, etc. Rules are based on frequencies recommended by professionals and regulations.
-
Does Domuss replace a professional or property survey?
No. Domuss helps plan and document maintenance, but does not replace a certified professional for mandatory work, nor a regulated property survey (official EPC, etc.). Open data shown remains informational; legal obligations and certificates belong to qualified professionals.
-
Can I export my maintenance logbook?
Yes. Domuss generates a Home file in PDF format including inventory, schedule, intervention history, expenses and linked open data (EPC, cadastre...). A temporary sharing link can be created for your notary, insurer or buyer.
-
Which open data can Domuss link to my home?
From your property BAN address, Domuss lets you link cadastre (IGN), ADEME EPC, Géorisques natural risks, PVGIS solar potential, ARCEP fiber eligibility, Hub'Eau water quality and climate profile. You link, view or detach each source from the property page.
-
Can I share my logbook with my family?
Yes. With Premium, invite a spouse, roommate or loved one by email as Reader: they see the same logbook (equipment, schedule, interventions) without editing rights. You can also transfer property ownership.
-
What is the difference between family sharing and the public link?
Family sharing invites a loved one into the app as Reader: they follow the logbook daily with a Domuss account. The public link (Premium) is a temporary web URL (30 days) for notary, insurer or buyer: read-only preview (score, equipment, city) without a Domuss account. The two are separate.
-
How does Domuss suggest equipment?
After creating your home and linking open data, Domuss calculates suggestions (e.g. boiler, ventilation) based on property type and context. You can accept to add the equipment, snooze or dismiss the suggestion.
-
How do reminders and notifications work?
Domuss sends push notifications about 14 days then 3 days before each maintenance deadline. You manage notification categories in app settings (maintenance, invitations, updates).
-
What is the seasonal checklist?
The seasonal checklist filters maintenance to do in spring, summer, autumn or winter, from your inventory and the French referential. Switch season from the dashboard to see what is relevant at that time of year.
-
Can I track my maintenance expenses?
Yes. Domuss aggregates costs entered on your interventions: annual charts, breakdown by equipment and forecast budget. Expense history is complete, including on the free plan.
-
Does Domuss work without an internet connection?
Yes. The app is offline-first: you browse and update your logbook without a network. Data syncs automatically when the connection is restored.
-
Can I sign in with Google or Apple?
Yes. You can create an account with email and password, or sign in via Google and Sign in with Apple (on iOS). You can also set or change a password later from account settings.
-
How do I contact a contractor via Domuss?
From a maintenance task or intervention, you can create a quote request. Domuss forwards your need to qualified partners near your home, with your postal code and work category.
-
How do Domuss points and badges work?
Every useful action in the app earns points: create a property, add equipment, meet a deadline, record an intervention, archive a document... You unlock badges per property (28 badges) and global owner badges (8 badges). Each property progresses from Novice to Domuss Master; your owner profile evolves from Beginner to Domuss Ambassador.
-
Is my data secure?
Domuss uses JWT authentication with rotating refresh tokens, HTTPS encryption and secure mobile storage. Documents and photos are stored on application servers and accessible only via authenticated API.
-
Where is my data stored and what is the privacy policy?
Domuss is published by Programini (France) and processes data in compliance with GDPR. Account, property, photo and document data are hosted with IONOS (France). Privacy policy: https://domuss.app/en/privacy. Legal notice: https://domuss.app/en/mentions-legales. Contact: privacy@domuss.app.
-
How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete your account anytime from Settings > Delete account in the Domuss app, or via the web page https://app.domuss.app/delete-account after signing in. Deletion erases or anonymizes associated personal data, subject to limited retention for security or legal obligations. Subscription invoices remain managed by Apple, Google or RevenueCat under their rules.
